“I visualize a time when we will be to robots what dogs are to humans, and I’m rooting for the machines.” —Claude Shannon

Artificial Intelligence is changing the world ( in a good way )

AI has impacted every part of our lives. Using things like Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, Google’s Assistant have become commonplace now. Does anyone even bat an eye when Netflix recommends you a movie based on your viewing profile ??

AI and Machine learning are now part of the world in which we live in and are not going away anytime soon. AI is going to impact millions of professions by replacing mundane jobs consisting of repetitive tasks with automation and robotics. This sounds scary but dont forget that AI will create millions of existing jobs also !

What was once the realm of science fiction is now a reality so what role are you going to play ?

An Artificial Intelligence career is future proof

Let’s be clear about one thing. The AI revolution is going to impact businesses and employees at all levels. It doesn’t matter if you are a Fortune 500 or a start-up or if you are an intern or an executive at the C-level, you need to know AI. It is no longer a competitive advantage but a requirement for success. The AI market is expected to expand to around $60 billion by 2025 and the demand for AI specialists has grown to over 75% year by year.

A common myth is that you need to be a programmer or a maths wizard to succeed in AI which is completely false. AI has many career paths tailored to your unique skills and its growing social impact means the demand for AI professionals is not going away anytime soon.

Governments are investing in AI

AI traditionally used to be a self-regulated industry but governments have realized the transformative impact of AI on their economies and have woken up. Nearly all countries across the word from the United Kingdom to the UAE to China are putting in detailed roadmaps for how AI is going to be part of their economic roadmap in the future.

Easily the most important event has the draft AI regulation put forth by the European Union in which a board regulatory framework has been proposed for the governance of AI and its risks. Similar to GDPR which set the tone for privacy frameworks globally, this new regulation will impact and set the tone for the AI related governance across the world. In a short while you can rest assured that job postings for “AI governance manager” or “Head of AI compliance” are going to be booming so this is the best time to get started so you can cash in when the demand becomes high
